In case all the posts about travel are confusing, here’s a brief overview of what we’re planning:

RV LIFE PART I

Starting in August, we’re hitting the road in our truck and fifth wheel.  Starting in Ohio we will head up to Maine, down to Florida, spend about a month in Florida, then back to Ohio to swap out the truck and trailer for our Jeeps and overland trailer.  We anticipate this taking up about 2 months.

OVERLAND TRIP

Around mid-October, we’ll again start in Ohio and head to North Carolina, where we will pick up the Trans-America trail, a network of country roads, back roads, and off road trails from coast to coast.  We’ll pass through both the Smokeys and the Rockies, on our way to the coast in Oregon.  From there we’ll head to the inland northwest so we can leave our Jeeps and overland trailer in Idaho before coming back to Ohio to fetch our truck and trailer.

RV LIFE PART II

Likely around early December we’ll hit the road again with our truck and trailer and start making our way west.  We have no itinerary or end date for this part of our travels, other than to try to fill in all the stickers on our map of the US!  We will go where we go and when we’ve decided it’s time, we’ll head to our new home in Idaho.
