The Tooth Fairy left another $5 for the girl. She seemed happy enough with it, though she seemed slightly disappointed. I think a part of her was still hoping she’d get some new toy or something. She handled her disappointment well though, and seemed happy with the money.
We weren’t in a hurry this morning, so we left after 1000. Short drive today, but we found Google maps to be very troublesome in New Jersey and Delaware. For some reason, in Deleware, it kept recommending routes that included getting off then right back on a freeway or turnpike. For no reason - there wasn’t any construction, no accident, no traffic. It always recommended the turnpike (tolls) before recommending the free routes. Typically, I’m keeping an eye on the map on my phone and letting Michael know when/where to turn. For this day, I was on my phone a lot, constantly trying to redo it. And you can’t change a route using your phone like you can on a desktop/laptop. So, be warned: if you blindly follow Google maps route recommendations, you should take moment to see what it’s actually telling you to do when in NJ or DE.
Dover AFB has a very small Fam Camp. 10 spots. Their laundry room has one washer and one dryer, both small. I’m not sure why all the campground laundries seem to have tiny washers. I’d pay a little more money in order to wash larger loads, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. What would normally be 2-3 loads of laundry ends up being about 5 in these tiny machines. Very annoying. As I said before though, I knew that laundry would be the worst part of RV living, since our RV doesn’t have a washer or dryer. Maybe our next RV will have one. Maybe.
We did a load of laundry before heading over to the Air Mobility Command Museum. It’s sorta small, but not really since it’s full of large aircraft. We walked onto the C-5 they had there. Michael used to be a Maintenance Crew Chief back in his enlisted days. All the people working there - likely all volunteers - liked to talk about what they used to do when they were in the service. It was a bit annoying only because we got there less than an hour before they closed, and we wanted to walk around and look at everything. They told us, “we’re closing soon, so you have to hurry” then proceeded to tie us up with conversation. That’s why it was annoying.
