STAYED in Schoodic Woods Campground, Acadia National Park, ME
I went for a morning run through the campground. My watch died after 2.42 miles, but it’s likely did over 3.
We went into the town of Winter Harbor to check out Lobster Fest. And no, we didn’t wait in a long line to eat lobster. We did get some blueberry pancakes from a local organization hosting a breakfast though. We checked out all the booths and bought a few crafts - some bracelets and dangly earrings for Ruby, some waxed cloth food wraps for me. My t-shirt got a lot of compliments. I was wearing the “I do crafts” shirt my sister got me. Above the words is a line-up of a variety of beers poured into different shaped glasses. :o)
We did two bike rides - one in the AM, one in the PM. We also drove down to Schoodic Point, and walked on the rocks and took some pictures. Ruby wanted to get all the way down to touch the water. But given that it’s not exactly a shore, but a steep drop into the depth of the ocean along what is essentially a sloping cliff, we were mean and didn’t let her get all the way down to the water.
New campers moved in across the way, with a couple of kids around Ruby’s age who wanted to ride bikes together. Ruby was very happy to have new friends. She sat with them during the ranger program about frogs and toads, and declared for all to hear that they were friends. Ruby also earned her Jr. Ranger badge for Acadia National Park at that program, plus learned a few things about frogs and toads.
